LEADERSHIP

David Brock

PASTOR

Pastor David Brock grew up in Newberry Springs, California in a Christian home with parents that loved the Lord deeply and had a passion for church ministry. David’s parents started a Christian camp called Ironwood to serve the churches in the West. At five years old, David’s mother led him to the Lord and at the age of seventeen, he surrendered to full time ministry.

After graduating high school, God led David to Bob Jones University where he met his first wife, Tiffany. Together, they continued David’s education at Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary in Lansdale, Pennsylvania where he received his Master of Divinity. Tiffany and David settled in Chandler, Arizona where David worked as a college pastor at Tri-City Baptist Church and college president at International Baptist College and Seminary. There he continued his education and earned his Doctor of Ministry in 2012. These years of ministry allowed David and Tiffany to impact many young students who were interested in church ministry. In 2010, after a life-long battle with cystic fibrosis, God called Tiffany home.

In 2012, David resigned from his ministry at Tri-City Baptist church and moved to Alaska where he married his wife, Yvonne. As David sought the Lord’s direction for his next steps in life, God continued to burden him with a desire to serve and plant churches in the Western United States. As they were serving together at Hamilton Acres Baptist Church, God opened an opportunity for them to move back to his hometown and serve at Ironwood in 2014. There he was able to establish the Ministry Connect program, a unique mentoring opportunity designed to disciple men for the pastorate.

Soon after their arrival, Faith Baptist Church offered David a position as their lead pastor. In January of 2015, David accepted the opportunity to lead this local congregation as a lay pastor. In September of 2018, David moved to a more full-time position with the church. The Brocks are eager to see how this desert congregation can continue to have an impact on the West and the world!

David and Yvonne’s two children fill their lives with fun and laughter! As a family, they enjoy camping, backpacking, board games, and kicking up a lot of mud on their quads!

Bodie Brock

PASTOR

Born in Barstow and raised in Newberry Springs, Pastor Bodie developed a love for the desert at an early age. Led to the Lord around the age of five years old by his mom, Bodie began to learn what it meant to live life for God watching his parents serve at Ironwood Christian Camp. At 12 years old, he decided to go into full-time ministry. By the time he graduated he wasn’t sure if God wanted him to pursue pastoral ministry or camping ministry.

Not knowing exactly which to pursue, Bodie chose to attend International Baptist College and Seminary majoring in both Business Leadership and Bible. Between school years, he served as a Junior Camp speaker. In 2018, Bodie married his wife, Ember, who he had met in high school while serving in Ironwood’s Leadership Live program. In 2019, his wife graduated from IBCS with a degree in Christian Service and Bible. That same year, they moved back to California and began serving in Ironwood’s internship program while Bodie finished his degree online.

At the end of 2019, positions opened at Ironwood allowing Bodie and Ember to join the Ironwood team. While Bodie loved serving at Ironwood, he still had a burden for pastoral ministry. He began leading the Youth Group at Faith Baptist Church of Cherokee Road, and, in 2022, Pastor David would begin to help Bodie through the pastoral process. In 2023, Faith Baptist Church ordained and installed Bodie allowing him to serve in both pastoral and camping ministry.

His primary responsibility at Faith Baptist Church is overseeing all Youth Ministries. His wife serves alongside him at both Ironwood and Faith Baptist Church. They have two kids, Atticus and Odyssey, who love camping, pillow fights, and exploring the desert.

Theron Bowman

PASTOR

Pastor Theron grew up in a military home; his dad served as an officer in the Army for over two decades. His family moved every few years, and he spent much of his life on the east coast. Although moving was just a part of life, his parents were always faithful in finding a good church to be a part of. When Theron was in 2nd grade, he went to his mom to ask questions about Jesus and salvation after a Sunday school lesson. He prayed then to accept Christ as his personal Savior. His desire had always been to join the Army like his dad, but in 11th grade while living in Fredericksburg, VA, he surrendered to God’s call into vocational ministry. As a result, after graduating high school in 2010, he left for Pensacola Christian College to study Pastoral Ministry.

While in college, Theron spent his summers going on missions trips out of the country, counseling at summer camps, and interning at his home church back in Virginia. After graduating college in 2014, he stayed in Pensacola, FL to attend Seminary and work on staff at PCC. While in seminary, Theron met his wife, Bethany. They were married in 2016 and had their first child, Peter Aiden, in 2017. They lived in Florida until 2018 when Theron accepted a pastoral role at a church plant in Culpeper, VA. Theron and Bethany worked mainly with teens, young married couples, and a wide variety of other work. While in Culpeper, they had two girls, Rori Lucille (2018) and Madelyn Brielle (2021). He was ordained at that church in October of 2023. After 6 years, God led them to transition out of that ministry in the early part of summer in 2024.

Later that same summer, God led the Bowmans to California to learn and grow in ministry philosophy under Pastor David at Faith Baptist Church of Cherokee Road and to work at Ironwood Christian Camp. Over the next year, God worked in their hearts and burdened them for the work and ministries of Ironwood and Faith Baptist Church. In April of 2026, Theron was voted in on pastoral staff at Faith. His focus at Faith is the ‘Recharge’ group, which covers the 18- to 30-year-olds, but he also loves to jump at any opportunity to teach and share God’s Word.

Theron and Bethany love traveling, drinking good coffee, and spending time with their three kids. Together they enjoy traveling to new places, eating ‘free snacks’ at Costco, playing games outside, and spending time with friends and family.
